Dredging Corporation Trainee Engineer Officer Vacancy

Dredging Corporation of India Ltd., is the largest Public Sector Dredging and Maritime Development Schedule “B” Company in India in the status of a “Mini Ratna” Category I. The company has ambitious plans to increase its fleet. In order to meet the manning requirements of its fleet, the company is looking for dynamic and result oriented personnel, for induction as Trainee Engineer Officer. On successful completion of training and passing out the MEO Class – IV (Part ‘B’), they will be appointed as 4th Engineer Officer, in the regular fleet of DCIL.

Accordingly, applications are invited from suitable male candidates for induction as Trainee Engineer Officer.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate should be in possession of: :
01. MEO Cl-IV (Part-A)
02. All Certificates as per STCW-1995 convention; and
03. Valid Indian CDC and Passport

Duration of Training:
The candidates will be imparted training on board Dredgers/Crafts, for a period of six months, enable them to complete required sea time, for appearing MEO CL-IV (Part-B) examination. In case, the candidate avails any leave for any reason, the period of training will be extended by equal number of days of leave availed, to complete six months sea service/time. No fees is payable by the candidate towards on board training.

Remuneration
During the period of on board of training the candidate will be paid:-
a) Stipend for the period of leave, if any) - Rs.10,000/- p.m. or pro-rata (No stipend is payable
b) Victualling Allowance board Dredgers/Crafts - Rs.385/- per day for the actual period of training on
c) Uniform Making Expenses - Rs.2,000/- (L.S) (One time payment)
d) Uniform Washing Allowance - Rs.40/- per month

(a) Age
A candidate applying for induction as Trainee Engineer Officer, should not be less than 20 years and not more than 27 years, as on date of advertisement. In the case of SC/ST candidates, upper age limit is 32 years. :

b) Medical Standards :
A candidate must have good health and fit for Sea service as per existing MS (ME) Rules, 2000, applicable to sea farers.

c) Eye Sight:
Un aided vision 6/12 in both eyes or 6/9 in good eye and 6/18 in other eye. Defective Colour Vision (Colour blindness) not accepted.

d) Candidates finally selected for induction as Trainee Engineer Officer, should execute a bond to serve DCIL., for a minimum period of five years. Whether candidates would be taken into the services of DCIL or otherwise, would solely depend upon the vacancy position and at the discretion of Management. During the currency of the period of bond, the original Certificates, Passport and CDC of the candidates will remain in the custody of DCIL.

Execution of Bond:
e) Travelling Expenses
Candidates called for interview, which is solely at the discretion of the management, will be paid ‘to and fro’ sleeper class train fare from their residence to Visakhapatnam, on production of tickets/ticket numbers.

f) Job prospects:
The Trainee Engineer Officers, after acquiring COC as MEO CL-IV (Part-B), will be inducted as 4th Engineer Officer, for serving on board Dredgers/Crafts owned or operated by DCIL. They will be provided free on board accommodation and messing (messing charges to be borne by them only.) Monthly salary (before tax) is Rs.83,000/- (approx), as on date. After obtaining necessary sea service and higher certificates of competency, they can go up to the rank of Chief Engineer Officer on board dredgers.

Out-station candidates, who may be called for interview and finally short listed for induction, should, if so required, be prepared to stay in Visakhapatnam, for one or two days (apart from the date of interview), at their own expenses, for undergoing medical examination etc.

Out of the above at least 05 years experience should be in a responsible position. The candidates having experience in CPWD procedures, knowledge of computer application and structural design software would be preferred.

    Essential: B.E. /B.Tech./ M.Sc in Computer Science/ Relevant Discipline OR MCA with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

    Desirable: Experience related to network administration, design, development and maintenance of application software. Experience with Linux/ Java and open source database and application platforms is desirable. Candidate should be able to lead a team of programmers involved in: (1) development, implementation and maintenance of Java/ JSP/ Java enterprises application software, (2) preparation of documents, user training, (3) Participation in the system analysis and module design.
